La Jolla High School Helps Turn Denim Into Insulation

During the week of October 28-November 1, La Jolla High School will be collecting used and unwanted denim to help in an alumna’s good cause.

Jessica Zuniga, a former La Jolla High School student, is currently collecting denim as part of her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise. In partnership with Cotton Inc., the Blue Jeans Go Green program has raised 986,220 pairs of jeans in the past eight years. Jessica and fellow students will recycle the jeans into denim insulation. This will be used to benefit buildings and houses for communities in need.

Donations will be accepted all week long. Two drop off boxes will be located at La Jolla High School’s front office, and also in the ASB room. For more information, check out the ASB Facebook page, visit Blue Jeans Go Green, or visit the front office directly.

La Jolla High School is located at 750 Nautilus St San Diego, CA 92037.
