After a long day of work, you need a place to unwind, preferably with a drink. Toss in some inexpensive appetizers and you’re instantly in a better mood. Lucky for you, a number of La Jolla Restaurants have extended their menus to include happy hour on most nights of the week.
Prepkitchen, located on Fay Avenue, offers happy hour from 3-6 PM everyday. Alcohol wise, they offer $5 glasses of wine, $25 pitchers of Sangria, and 25% off all bottles of wine. Top that off with an extensive tapas menu filled with Italian meats, cheeses and other Mediterranean delicacies, and you have yourself the perfect combination.
Nine-Ten, right in the heart of downtown La Jolla on Prospect, similarly offers happy hour Monday thru Friday from 3:30-6:30 PM. They have a half-priced bar menu for snacks, $2 off all beers on their extensive beer list, and $5 glasses of wine.
For a more upscale, city feel, go to Manhattan of La Jolla inside the Empress Hotel on Fay. Sit in the lounge and enjoy half price appetizers and a delicious cocktail from 4-6 PM Sunday thru Friday. Come for the happy hour and stay for the live music starting at 7 PM.
For fun and unique eats, visit Beaumont’s located on La Jolla Blvd. from 3-6:30 daily. Munch on blistered shishito peppers, crispy pork belly bites, or crunchy flat bread and wash it all down with $5 margaritas, mojitos and mules.
If you’re searching for a classic La Jolla restaurant in the Shores, visit Marine Room from 4-6 PM Sunday thru Friday. Enjoy blue crab cakes, signature lobster bisque and crispy avocado fritters. Well drinks, glasses of wine and Dan’s daily drink, all $8.
For an Asian persuasion, go to Roppongi on Prospect. Roppongi was voted San Diego’s best happy hour. It’s offered daily from 3-6 PM, leaving out special holidays. Half-priced tapas and $9 specialty drinks are the best way to spend time with friends while enjoying yourself on their outdoor patio.
If you happen to be visiting and staying at La Valencia Hotel, visit the Aprés La V daily from 4-6. Not only will you enjoy their signature cocktails and yummy appetizers, there is also live entertainment nightly from 5-8 PM.
We all know sushi can be expensive, but what better way to enjoy it than with 50% off all sushi rolls at Zenbu on Fay from 5-6 PM daily? Not only is it half-off all sushi rolls, it’s also half-off all beer, wine, sake, cocktails and appetizers. Wind down after that workday with some sake and a fresh sushi roll without feeling bad about the price.
