Echoes by Tom Driscoll
The brilliant work of local artist Tom Driscoll will be presented at the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library. With a strong interest in molds, this body of works focuses on cement sculptures and fashion. The Anthenaeum Music and Arts Library is located at 1008 Wall St La Jolla, CA 92037 and this exhibit will be on display until July 27.
Tribes @La Jolla Playhouse
The world famous La Jolla Playhouse is known for its long history of establishing and sending Broadway shows to New York City and on to win Tony Awards. From rising British playwright Nina Raine, Tribes is the newest and current contemporary play at the playhouse. With a savage and humorous outlook on family relations and communication skills, Tribes is bound to entertain you and make for a fun filled night. Tales From The Vinyl Dimension – Portraits And Landscapes
This photography exhibit by local La Jolla artist John Purlia will be on display at Pannikin in La Jolla for the entire month of July. Saturday is the opening reception from 5:00-7:00pm. Admission is free. Pannikin Coffee & Tea is located at 7467 Girard Ave La Jolla CA, 92037.
Handcrafted Journeys: Japanese American Woodworkers
The Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park is once again having the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego exhibit at the garden. The exhibit focuses on the evolution of Japanese American woodworking made in the pre WWII era, their time during the internment camp experience, and up until post-war work. Pieces from local collections will be on display. The Japanese Friendship Garden is located at 2215 Pan American Road East San Diego, CA 92101 in the world famous Balboa Park.
Rockola-La Jolla Concerts By the Sea
As part of the La Jolla Coves Summer concert series, famed local rock and roll band Rockola will be performing. This summer long concert series are family friendly and free. Easily located at the Ellen Browning Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove, enjoy a fun day at the park and relax to Rockolas wide range of vocal sounds. The La Jolla Concerts by the Sea are free every Sunday and are from 2:00-4:00pm.
La Jolla Open Aire Market
The farmers market is held every Sunday at La Jolla Elementary from 9:00am-1:00pm. Take the entire family or just cruise down on your bike to pick up local and organic foods. While picking up flowers and bath salts, enjoy breakfast or lunch from one of the many vendors in the food court. Try an exotic fruit such as dragon fruit or cherimoya from one of the many farm vendors. The Upper playground at La Jolla Elementary is located at 1111 Marine Street, La Jolla, California 92037.
