We have made it to the very last weekend of 2013. What an incredible year! As we take a moment to reflect on this year’s highlights, here is a look at the upcoming weekend events taking place in La Jolla and around town. Have a great weekend everyone!
Fantasy on Ice
Bring the entire family down to Horton Plaza to Ice Skate in America’s Finest City. Where else can you Ice Skate outside in near perfect 75 degree weather? The rink is open until January 5th and is located at 225 Broadway Circle, San Diego, CA 92101. Adults are $14 and children are $12. Not only will you enjoy a family fun day, but you will also help benefit the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego.
Belmont Park Holiday Festivities
Join the community for a free and family-friendly holiday event! Join Belmont Park for their christmas tree lighting, free kid activities, and much more! Every Friday during the holiday season from 6:00PM- 8:00PM and every Saturday from 3:00PM – 5:00PM.
Pajama Jam: New Year’s Family Night Out
Need a New Year’s Eve idea for the kids? Take the family out to the New Children’s Museum in downtown for a fun filled pajama celebration! Children can jam out in their jammies while enjoying dinner from local restaurants, New Year’s themed art-making activities, a balloon drop, and live music from Clint Perry & The Boo Hoo Crew, while adults can enjoy a hosted bar and bid on prizes in the silent auction. The event is taking place on Saturday, December 28th, from 5:00PM – 8:00PM. Tickets range from $20 – $35. Please check with the museum for more ticketing information.
Jungle Bells at The San Diego Zoo
Jungle Bells is taking over the San Diego Zoo! Bring the whole family out to the zoo to celebrate the holidays. Enjoy a nightly tree lighting, holiday animal themed presentations, and holiday themed entertainment! Jungle Bells festivities are included with zoo admission and is open nightly throughout the holiday season until 8:00PM.
Victorian Tea at The Hotel Del Coronado
Afternoon tea in San Diego is a holiday tradition! Continue the timeless event at the Hotel Del Coronado this holiday season. The famous hotel offers victorian tea only during the holidays, so don’t miss out! Enjoy a variety of teas, sweet bites, and finger sandwiches while listening to live music! The price is $50 for adults and $25 for children ages 6-10. Please call the hotel for reservations and more information.
Garden of Lights
The San Diego Botanic Garden is transforming into a winter wonderland filled with over 100,000 sparkling lights. Other festivities include horse drawn wagon rides and even snow! There will also be live music nightly from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. The Garden of Lights is going on from December 26th – December 30th, so don’t miss your chance to see this wonderful wonderland!
