The Concours d'Elegance

This weekend is the Concours d’Elegance! This year’s 10th annual event will be celebrating European race and motorcar history with top-of-the-line showcases displaying Ferraris, Bentleys, Rolls-Royce, and many more.

The Blue Book is a proud media sponsor of the Concours this year and will have a booth set up at the event! We will be raffling away an airport ride for 4 people (from your home directly to the San Diego airport) that is valued at $45, courtesy of Martina’s Transportation, as well as a $25 Warwick’s Gift Card – so be sure to stop by and enter to win!

Here’s a schedule for the events this weekend: 

Friday, April 11th:

The Concours d'Elegance

The weekend will start off with the Rolls-Royce Contemporary Classic Cocktail Party from 7pm until 10pm. Drinks and small appetizers will be served at La Valencia Hotel.

Saturday, April 12th:

Concours d'Elegance

The day will be comprised of the official La Jolla Concours Motor Tour from 7:30am to 4:30pm. The morning begins with breakfast at the San Diego Automotive Museum (2080 Pan American Plaza, Balboa Park). Participants will cruise 60-70 miles in their classic cars and stop along the way to view private, luxury auto collections and lunch at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. You can register a classic auto to join the tour for $150 (includes driver and one passenger) online at lajollaconcours.com.

Later that evening is the Bentley VIP Reception/Silent Auction, which includes food and drink, from 6-9 p.m at Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Tickets are $125 per person.

Sunday, April 13th:

The last day of the Concours will be the official 10th annual Concours D’Elegance show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Tickets are $50 at the door and $125 for VIP. The Motor Car Classic will also be occurring then from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m along Coast Boulevard (by Ellen Browning Scripps Park); Prospect Street between Herschel and Girard avenues.

La Jolla Concours D'EleganceThere are 30 classes of cars in total, and each class has a team of three judges. First- and second-place prizes will be presented in each class, as well as two “Best of Show” awards. Judges will be assessing the quality of care or restoration, as well as the vehicle’s fine details and components.
