Just this past week, La Jolla welcomed Iberico Bistro in the former vacant location that once was Vigiluccis. Located ideally upstairs on Prospect Street, this new authentic Spanish eatery focuses on fresh Spanish tapas with a glamourous atmosphere. The location has been entirely remodeled. Brick exposure, glass chandeliers, and authentic Spanish decor transports visitors to the Spanish riviera.
The dinner menu at this new La Jolla restaurant is full of great choices. For tapas, try their Rabo de toro featuring red wine braised ox tail. Or sample one of their 20+ tapas. Other menu dishes include a large selection of paella, seafood, meats, coca flatbreads, and authentic Spanish soups. The drink menu also highlights gin. Featuring an exclusive gin club, Iberico is the only southern californian restaurant focusing on gin tonic. Created by Juan Carlos Gomez, the owner of the highly popular El Agave Tequileria in Old Town, Gomez wanted to bring authentic flavors of Spain to San Diego. He believed La Jolla would be the perfect spot.
We were invited to the opening celebration and had a great time. With a live dj, entertainers splashed with Spanish body paint, and dozens of drink choices, the party was wondrous. Check out pictures from the event below and be sure to leave a comment below and let us know your experience at Iberico Bistro.
