Happy hour specials are back! This time, centered in the beautiful beachside town of Del Mar. If you happen to be spending the day at the Del Mar Fair and need some yummy inexpensive food and drinks, Del Mar has a number of restaurants that offer happy hour throughout the week.
The Del Mar Brigantine, located on Camino Del Mar, is a fun and lively restaurant overlooking both the beach and the Del Mar Fairgrounds. It is known for its oyster bar as well as its award-winning fish taco plates with homemade potato chips. Happy hour is held Tuesday thru Sunday from 4-6 PM and Monday from 4-10 PM.
Jake’s Del Mar on Coast Blvd has arguably one of the best views of all Del Mar restaurants, as it is located directly on the beach. Enjoy happy hour Monday thru Friday from 4-6 PM and Saturday 2:30-4:30 PM. You can indulge in Moroccan grilled shrimp, crispy calamari or a seafood Caesar salad while drinking a sunset martini for $8.50 or a draft beer for the low price of $4 all while looking at the ocean. After happy hour, kick off your shoes and take a nice stroll on the beach at sunset.
If you’re feeling more of a bar atmosphere, visit Jimmy O’s, King of Happy Hour, on 15th street for bar food, cheap drinks and lots of lively, young company. From 4-7 PM Monday thru Thursday and 11-7 PM on Sundays, enjoy delicious $3 tacos, $3 beers and well drinks, $9 burger and fries, and $4 glasses of wine and margaritas. Not only does Jimmy O’s hold happy hour in the evening, they also have late night happy hour Sunday thru Thursday from 10 PM-12 AM for the same great specials. So whether you want to enjoy some drinks and appetizers before dinner or whether you want to end your night with them, Jimmy O’s has options for you.
If you want an Asian flair, visit Rendezvous on Camino Del Mar 4-5:30 PM Monday thru Saturday for Happy Buddha Hour. Buy one regularly priced beer, glass of wine or sake and enjoy your next round for only 88¢! Also, if you order any two rice, noodle or entrée dishes, you get a free appetizer, side or dessert of your choosing. Not only does Rendezvous have great happy hour specials, each night of the week they have something that benefits you: Monday-no corkage fee, Tuesday-half-off beer and sake, and Wednesday and Sunday-half-off bottles of wine $32 and up. Everyday they make it possible for you to take home your purchased wine, beer and sake at ½ price with your meal or take-out. And finally, they offer 10% off all take-out dinner orders before 6:30 PM or after 8 PM everyday.
For a fun, fiesta-themed happy hour, visit En Fuego on Camino Del Mar everyday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Drink up those $3 beers, wells and margaritas and indulge in an assortment of street tacos as well as nachos and quesadillas for less than $7. Also visit En Fuego on Tuesdays for $1 Taco Tuesday!
Poseidon, located on Coast Blvd, boasts of its’ amazing beachfront view of the water and its happy hour! From 4-6:30 PM Monday thru Friday. Munch on $7 starters like ceviche, mini duck confit tacos and coconut shrimp and wash it all down with $3 beers, $4 margaritas, $5 cosmos and $5 glasses of wine.
