Don’t let the gloomy weather damper your Halloween plans. La Jolla is gearing up for a great Halloween week and here are some wickedly fun events happening around town.
Halloween Story for toddlers is Warwick’s trick-or-treat story time this year and it starts tomorrow, Tuesday at 11 a.m. Come dressed in costume because it will only make the experience more enjoyable. Pillage the Village, from 3 to 6 p.m., will take place in the La Jolla Village. Come dressed in your favorite costume and trick-or-treat at participating stores on Girard Ave. Participating merchants will be marked with black and orange balloons. The event will also have a costume contest and a food drive for the San Diego Food Bank.
Silent Horror Films will be screened on Halloween night at UC San Diego. The screenings will include 16mm films featuring hauntings, vampirism, demons and ghosts. Yes ghosts! Showtime is at 7 p.m. in the Seuss Room at the Gesisel Library on campus. Still not convinced? The Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra will perform live music and sounds as the silent films are shown. Have we mentioned it’s FREE?!
Most of us don’t need an excuse to treat ourselves to Chipotle, but in case you do, then Boorito for Dinner (Get it?) is the perfect excuse. Visit any location on Halloween night dressed in costume and get any burrito, bowl, salad, or an order of tacos for only $3! This offer is only valid on Halloween night October 31st from 4 p.m. to closing. All proceeds will benefit the “Boorito” fundraiser, which is Chipotle’s Cultivate Foundation.
Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is this Friday and Hotel La Jolla’s Haitus Lounge is creating a frenzied feast. The Dia De Los Muertos Party is on Friday November 1st, at 7 p.m. and will include tequila cocktail specials, live music, a piñata, and a face painting station.
