October is turning out to be the unofficial film festival month in San Diego, from the San Diego Film Festival, to the Latino Film Festival, to the Asian Film Festival and now the first annual La Costa Film Festival. The 1st Annual La Costa Film Festival will be showcasing a combination of narrative and documentary features and short films that have become some of the most engaging films of the year.
Founded by Michael and Ruby Gallihan, the La Costa film festival is operated through La Costa Dreams, Inc. (2013), which is a Carlsbad non-profit public benefit organization, with all net proceeds going directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. The mission of the film festival is to deliver a new cultural experience to North County that fosters a greater appreciation of the art of film making. The festival will include filmmaker Q&A sessions, panels, events and gala parties. The exclusive events and films will be hosted in three different sites in Carlsbad, the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, and The Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium. You can still get your tickets here!
Taste of North County is the opening night gala for the La Costa Film Festival at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa (Orchid Terrace) on Thursday, October 24th.
