Hop in your car and head to Escondido where all of your chocolate dreams can come true. Escondido Chocolate Festival is coming Saturday, Feb. 8, just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to try something new, this event is the one! Experience a world full of chocolate goodness at the sweet event also known as For The Love of Chocolate.
The event will kick off at 1 p.m. with delectable festivities happening throughout the day. Sweet Street is a free event for chocolate lovers of all can sample local and international chocolatiers, check out jewelry designers and explore other vendors.
For those 21 and older, Caliber, a southern California cover band will hit the stage. Move and groove to 70’s, 80’s, 90s, old school funk, classic rock, reggae and top 40 hits while enjoying luscious chocolate and delightful beer or wine. The Caliber Experience features unique chocolates with the perfect pairing of boutique wines, champagnes and locally-crafted beers. Pairings start at 5 p.m. and include samples of chocolate infused dishes and drinks created by local restaurants. The Caliber experience will be at different locations on Grand Avenue.
The cost for the Perfect Pairing “Golden Ticket” is $35 before 5 pm on Feb. 7 and $45 after then. For those who want to enjoy just the chocolate or are designated to drive, a special price of $20 for those tickets will be available. After Feb. 7, the cost will go up to $30. The Golden Ticket will include 10 beer or wine and chocolate pairings.
Escondido Art Walk takes place the 2nd Saturday of each month and will be part of Escondido Chocolate Festival festivities. Several galleries and museums will open to the public and feature art exhibits from emerging and world-renown artists. The Sweet Art Walk is free.
