Don’t Miss the 2018 Mainly Mozart Festival

Mainly Mozart announces its 2018 Spotlight Chamber Music Series. The popular intermission-free series presents world class chamber musicians performing beloved classics. The Spotlight Series is sponsored by the Patricia and Christopher Weil Family Foundation.

New York-based pianist Anne-Marie McDermott returns for her seventh year as The Spotlight Curator. She has imbued the series with her signature combination of well-known favorites and forgotten gems.

“Spotlight Series has gained greater importance over the last two years, both in the communities it serves and in its integration into the annual Festival” said Nancy Laturno, Mainly Mozart’s Executive Director. “Spotlight concerts in Rancho Santa Fe will bookend the 2018 Mainly Mozart Festival, serving as both the opening and closing concerts.”

Year Three of Mainly Mozart’s six-year exploration of Mozart’s life and music focuses on “Brave New World: From Rebel to Entrepreneur.” In his early 20s, Mozart –no longer Europe’s “golden child” and unable to secure a stable position –was forced by financial need to become a musical entrepreneur. Some of Mozart’s greatest works come this period will be featured in 2018 Spotlight and Festival programming.
