Experience a whole new world of luxury at The Bed and Breakfast Inn at La Jolla. Registered as a historical building, The Inn’s coastal charm meets timeless romance which makes an ideal destination for visitors and stay-cationers alike. There are many restaurants, shops and galleries a few blocks away and La Jolla’s finest beaches are just around the corner. The Inn at La Jolla offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, a relaxing atmosphere, and much more.
Tucked away in the heart of La Jolla, the Inn is close to many activities but far enough to get away from it all. The Inn offers something special for out-of-town guests and locals looking for a getaway. Innkeeper Marilouise Micuda gave La Jolla Blue Book an exclusive tour and said, “We are La Jolla’s extra guest room and our goal is to exceed expectations and make our guests feel at home.” Marilouise also said guests appreciate The Inn’s outstanding attention to detail and exceptional personalized service.
The Inn has luxurious amenities you can’t find anywhere else. Nestled in the corner of The Inn is a peaceful garden where guests can put their feet up and enjoy a book or afternoon tea. A complimentary three-course breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese reception are served daily along with fresh fruit, homemade cookies, and a wide assortment of drinks. For an additional fee, The Inn provides one dozen long stem roses, ganache-covered strawberries, romantic candles in the guest room, picnic basket and breakfast ‘inn’ bed.
The Inn was originally built as a private home and designed by cubist architect Irving Gill in 1913. John Philip Sousa and his family lived in the home during the 1920s. After many years of neglect, the home was in ruins. In 1983 the home was rescued and renovated and just a year later, La Jolla’s first bed and breakfast opened its doors.
The elegant cottage style inn has 13 furnished guest rooms and 2 suites. Each room has its own unique décor, hardwood floors and personality. The Irving Gill Penthouse is a private suite at the top of the house with a separate sitting room, ocean and sunset deck, tub, fireplace and king size bed. The Garden room has a private entrance on the first floor with a wood burning fireplace, claw-foot tub and king size bed.
The Inn is perfect for the leisure and business traveler, couples looking for a short weekend getaway or newly married honeymooners. Discover the many wonders of The Inn and visit innlajolla.com for availability, pricing and more information.
