Saturday, Oct. 12th

Arts, Crafts & Vintage Market: Pumpkin Festival
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday), Bates Nut Farm
Nothing says autumn better than a Pumpkin Festival. Couple this with Bates Nut Farm hosting its Arts, Crafts & Vintage Market showcasing upcycled, restored, vintage, and handmade wares including jewelry, soaps, fine art, woodworking and more. Meanwhile over at the farm’s pumpkin patch, visitors will find the Pumpkin Festival complete with fall decorations, tractor hayrides, a straw maze, pony rides and food vendors. Admission is free, but it costs $5 to park at Bates Nut Farm on the weekends in October.

If you don’t have your pumpkin picked out yet, you’re in luck! This time of year, San Diego County is home to lots of pumpkin patches, many of which offer special activities in addition to gorgeous gourds. Check your area for dates and times!

Sunday, Oct. 13th

Yoga + Mimosa Mornings
9 a.m., Windmill Food Hall (Carlsbad)
Namaste right here… after a couple mimosas. Enjoy a Sunday morning yoga session at the brand-new Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad led by a certified instructor. Afterward, 21+ participants can enjoy a mimosa at the foodie-friendly attraction. This class costs $5; bring your own mat.

Guided Nature Walk
9:30 a.m., Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center
It’s going to be a beautiful weekend to get outside! Take a free guided 1.5 hour nature walk from Mission Trails Regional Park. Along the way you’ll learn about animals, plants, and history of this park in San Diego.

Saturday, Sep. 28th

San Diego Restaurant Week
Lunch and Dinnertime, Locations Vary

San Diego’s ultimate food event continues its run this weekend, showcasing dining deals at 180+ restaurants across the county. As always, participating eateries will offer $10 to $60 prix-fixe San Diego Restaurant Week menus — some for lunch, some for dinner, some for both — that usually include a couple of courses. SDRW wraps up Sunday; check out the full lineup of restaurants here.

Yoga in the Rotunda
8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., San Diego Museum of Man
The San Diego Museum of Man hosts another session of “Yoga in the Rotunda,” an instructor-led, all-levels flow class in the museum’s historic rotunda. Tickets to this event for non-museum members cost $10, and you must complete “E-Club Member” enrollment on the museum’s website while buying your ticket. This unique yoga class is held the second and fourth Saturday of every month, so if you can’t make it this weekend, look ahead to your calendar and pencil it in for next time.

Saturday, Sep. 21st:

ArtWalk Carlsbad
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Armada Drive in Carlsbad
The 2nd annual ArtWalk Carlsbad takes over Armada Drive near the Carlsbad Flower Fields this weekend, where it plans to showcase 175+ artists, activities and live music, including a 2:30 p.m. Sunday performance by A.J. Croce. The ArtWalk will feature 50 chalk artists who plan to create temporary masterpieces on the asphalt, plus a KidsWalk activity area for the little ones, street food vendors and 21+ beer and wine pavilions. Tickets range from $10 to $15, depending on if you want to visit one day or both days of the art festival.

Rooftop Cinema Club: ‘Dirty Dancing’
7 p.m., Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego
Nobody puts Baby in a corner. But, they’ll put her on the big screen. The coming-of-age 1987 Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey classic, “Dirty Dancing,” will fill the outdoor movie screen Friday night on the scenic rooftop at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The 18+ screening is part of the hotel’s ongoing Rooftop Cinema Club – movies shown under the stars, set alongside stunning views of the San Diego skyline. Tickets start at $17; you can self-park in the hotel’s garage for four hours for free if you buy food (other than popcorn or candy) or drinks at the Rooftop Cinema Club. Sounds like the time of your life, right?

Saturday, Sep. 7th

San Diego Blues Festival
12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Embarcadero Marina Park South
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank hosts its 9th annual San Diego Blues Festival along downtown’s waterfont. The family-friendly fest will feature nine musical acts across two stages, plus food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and local craft beer, wine and cocktail vendors. General admission costs $35; kids age 12 and under get in free with a paying adult. All proceeds will help support the San Diego Food Bank and its North County chapter; attendees are also encouraged to bring canned food donations. NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 will have a booth at the Blues Festival; stop by and say hello!

6th Annual Carlsbad Brewfest
1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Holiday Park
Craft beer enthusiasts, this one’s for you. More than 40 craft breweries and cider houses will come together for the Carlsbad Brewfest this Saturday at Holiday Park. Music, entertainment and food will round-out the event; general admission tickets cost $55. New this year: several local brewers – including Culver Beer Co., Burgeon Beer Company, and Pizza Port, to name a few – have collaborated to create West Coast IPA that’ll be released at the fest. Cheers!

5th Annual Diamond Street Festival
12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Imperial Avenue between 60th and 63rd streets
This free community street festival in the heart of San Diego’s “Diamond neighborhoods” – along Imperial Avenue, between 60th and 63rd streets – will boast music, food, art, a car show and activities for kids. Country Beer Jam
12 p.m., Seaside Concert Area at Del Mar Racetrack
Giddy up and head over to the Del Mar Racetrack for a seaside concert. This event will have craft beer and country music, with live performances by Nancarrow, Kimmi Bitter, and more. Not to mention, line dancing and a stein-holding contest. To sweeten the pot, the event is free with paid admission to the racetrack; 21+ beer tasting wristbands are available for purchase separately for $12.50, which gets you five 5-ounce beer tastings.

Nothing like a libation to help you out with your green thumb. Learn how to  plant a succulent while enjoying a pint at this 2-hour workshop at Alpine Beer Co. This event is hosted by Stemtations San Diego. $52 will get you a decorative pedestal planter, all planting materials, and your first brew.

Gourmet Food Truck Festival
12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Seaside Concert Area
The 10th Annual Gourmet Food Truck Festival rolls into the Del Mar Racetrack Saturday featuring dozens of Southern California-based food trucks serving their best bites. Entry to the Food Truck Festival is free with paid admission to the track ($6 for Stretch Run) but bring money to buy snacks. This year, the food vendors will be dishing out everything from Korean-inspired eats and Peruvian plates, to lobster rolls, kebabs, and tacos.
