The 2013 Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade, “America’s largest balloon parade”, will be taking over the streets of downtown San Diego once again! Over 100,000 spectators will be in attendance at the annual parade. This exciting family-friendly event will include marching bands, dazzling floats, festive drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons.
To start things off, the day will begin at 9:45AM on December 30 with the 19th annual Bumble Bee Foods 5K. The Bumble Bee Foods 5K will begin on the corner of Harbor Drive and Ash Street. The 5K will trace a waterfront course and should finish just in time for the beginning of the parade.
Known nation wide for being one of the largest balloon parades, the procession will begin along North Harbor Drive, travel along the coast, and finish on West Harbor Boulevard. For grandstand seating, visit www.holidaybowl.com to purchase tickets. If you aren’t able to visit the parade in person, be sure to watch the live televised event on Channel 4 San Diego. After the parade has concluded, be sure to make your way to Qualcomm Stadium for the 36th annual National University Holiday Bowl! Kickoff starts at 7:15PM and the game should be a great match between ASU and Texas Tech.
