There is no better way to kick off the holiday spirit than by attending Balboa Park’s December Nights. December Nights, on its 35th year now, will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, 3-11 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, noon-11 p.m. Come out and see how Balboa Park is transformed into a holiday wonderland.
Participating Balboa Park museums will open their doors free of charge from 5-9 p.m. both evenings. Organizers are expecting to draw 350,000 visitors who will take part in the joyous two-day event. December Nights is San Diego’s largest free community festival.
As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a truly multicultural experience, enjoying food, music, and entertainment from around the world. You will also be able to watch top-notch musical and dance performances, enjoy delicious and diverse food, and nothing makes the holiday season better than food!
The Pacific Relations Cottages will host the International Christmas Festival and the annual Santa Lucia Procession at the Plaza de California. The International Cottages will be providing ethnic food, traditional spirits and entertainment from around the world.
The San Diego Junior Theater, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, Del Cerro Baptist’s Christmas Story Tree will be performing musical and dance performances.
This is a big event; therefore we highly encourage you to arrive early. Parking can be a hassle. You can visit the December Night’s website for more information about public transportation and shuttle services to the festival.
