The 9th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is returning to the Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park! This yearly event celebrates the forthcoming season of spring, the diverse culture of Japan, and the beauty of mother nature.
The Japanese Friendship Garden will be displaying 150 Cherry Blossoms throughout the park. Festivities for the celebration include cultural performances, traditional food, unique local vendors, a children’s corner, and a beer & sake tasting. Guests will also have the privilege of partaking in Hanami, the ancient custom of picnicking underneath the cherry trees!
Opening celebrations for the festival are being held on Saturday, March 1st from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Admission cost is priced at $6 for adults, $5 for seniors/military/students, and children 5 & under are FREE! If you are not able to attend opening day, don’t worry!
