Easter is just around the corner, and that means (for some) there is a lot of chocolate, egg hunting, and feasting in the near future. This year, there are several great spots to go Easter egg hunting around La Jolla and San Diego with your little ones!

La Jolla Egg Hunt

Saturday March 26, 10 am-12:30 pm. Ages 2-12. The egg hunt is free, otherwise $5 includes a meet-and-greet with Peter Rabbit, goodie bag, face painting, and arts and crafts. La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect St. 858-552-1658.

Breakfast with Bunny & Easter Eggstravaganza in Coronado

Saturday March 26, starting at 9am. Enjoy a delicious breakfast plus an egg hunt, crafts, a prize wheel and more. $9-$11; tickets must be purchased in advance. From 1-3:30 pm, there will be more egg hunts, a life-sized Candyland game and visits from the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts are free; there is a fee for some activities. Coronado Community Center, 1845 Strand Way.

Eggs & Treats at Pacific Beach Recreation Center

Saturday, March 26, 10am. Hunt for eggs and tackle a 40-foot obstacle course; enjoy face painting, a bounce house, and arts and crafts. The egg hunt starts promptly at 10am. $3 wristband includes activities. Returned eggs will qualify participants for special goodie bags. 1405 Diamond St., San Diego.

North Clairemont Rec Center’s Egg Hunt

Saturday March 26, 9:30 am (ages 1 & 2); 10 am (ages 3-5); 10:30 am (ages 6-8) & 11 am (ages 9-12). Entrance and egg hunting is free, and a $2 bracelet for food and entertainment is available for purchase. 4421 Bannock Ave.

Belmont Park’s Easter Bash

Sunday March 27. Go egg hunting on the beach (9am-noon) for only $5, or join a free egg hunt in the park at 12:30 pm. Nearly 10,000 fun-filled eggs will be up for grabs on the beach and throughout the park! Hint – look for the special Golden Eggs, as well. Afterwards, indulge in a delicious meal at Wavehouse (9am-1 pm) or Draft (9am-3pm). And of course, don’t forget to pose for pictures with the Easter Bunny from 2-4pm! 3146 Mission Blvd.

Spring EGGStravaganza at Birch Aquarium

Sunday March 27, 11am-3pm. Welcome the arrival of spring and the changes it brings as you explore animal eggs, participate in an ‘underwater egg hunt,’ make a shark egg craft and more. Note: Scavenger hunt will be available from March 20-27. Free with admission to the aquarium. 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla.
