Father’s Day is June 15th, and there are a ton of fun things happening around San Diego and La Jolla this year. Check out these 5 fun Father’s Day weekend activities for the upcoming holiday.
24th Annual Wooden Boat Festival
What: The premier annual event for Southern California traditional wooden boat enthusiasts returns for its 24th year! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to view some of the most beautiful and well maintained wooden crafts up close. View well-preserved vintage vessels in addition to newer handcrafted ones. Festivities include live music, a variety of booths, activities for children, and a raffle with a large assortment of valuable items donated from local businesses.
When: Saturday June 14th, 9am-5pm & Sunday June 15th, 9am-4pm

Taste of the Gaslamp 2014
What: Explore everything the versatile Gaslamp Quarter has to offer in this annual self-guided tasting tour. Visit more than 30 restaurants featuring delicious samples of their house specialties and enjoy the picturesque Beer Garden presented by Samuel Adams at Altitude Sky Lounge. Admission also includes tastings at all participating restaurants and the Beer Garden, as well as a copy of the Taste of Gaslamp Chefs’ Secrets recipe book. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 the day of.

Cruise to Belmont Park
What: Bring the entire family to the beach and treat Dad to a day of cars, music, and good old fashioned fun. The El Cajon Cruisers will be on hand displaying their best vintage vehicles – 1968 and older. There will be live music and a raffle; prizes include tickets for Sea World and the chance to dine with Shamu. Join the community of Mission Beach during this exciting Father’s Day tribute and celebration of Mission Beach’s 100th birthday.

Brunch With Shamu at Sea World
What: Make Dad feel extra special! Spend Father’s Day at SeaWorld and enjoy a hearty poolside Brunch with Shamu and his trainers. Our chefs will prepare a special buffet for the Dad’s and the whole family. Space is limited – reservations required! Be sure to call early and reserve a spot.

Father’s Day Festival
What: Test dad’s three-legged racing skills and celebrate with family at the second annual two-day festival. The free Father’s Fest includes live music, a basketball tournament, hot dog eating contest, a pet expo, an amateur BBQ cook-off contest, face painting, games, and more. Food will be available for purchase.
The 6K walk is from 7:30am-9am. It begins at Sears in the UTC Westfield Mall and ends at the new National Cemetery at Miramar with a short ceremony honoring Fathers who are veterans.
