Where To Get Your Juice Fix in La Jolla

pexels-photo-109275

If you’re looking for a healthy cold drink this summer, stop in for an ice-cold green juice from one or more of these insanely-awesome juice bars in La Jolla.

Juice Kaboose
7556 Fay Ave
La Jolla, CA 92037

What we recommend: The Green Lemonade. For over 20 awesome years, Juice Kaboose has been offering La Jolla residents and visitors alike with a healthy abundance of lip-smacking green juices, and their Green Lemonade is certainly no exception. Created with fresh apple juice, fresh lemon juice, ginger, spinach, cucumber, celery, and honey, Green Lemonade is an energizing choice for any La Jolla day when you’re seeking a refreshing juice to chill with. And hey, as an added bonus, the blend of honey and ginger fuels the body’s immune system and fights off any of those nasty toxins that may be coursing through your body.

Lean and Green Cafe
7825 Fay Ave, Suite 180
La Jolla, CA 92037

What we recommend: The Ultimate Green. Lean and Green Cafe’s Ultimate Green juice is prepared with all organic ingredients, including apple, celery, cucumber, and spinach. Spinach is bursting with wall-to-wall antioxidants and vitamins A, C and K. Oh, too high-cal you say? Not. The Ultimate Green remains a low-calorie, healthy green! This particular drink is perfect right after surfing or after an intensive yoga session, so ask for one for your “ultimate” cool-down.

Nekter Juice Bar
834 Kline Street
La Jolla, CA 92037

What we recommend: The Greenie. This is Nekter’s signature green juice. Made fresh to order, this juice is an invigorating assortment of parsley, spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, lemon and apple for a hint of sweetness. Parsley is a particularly favorable ingredient, because it acts as a cleansing agent by promoting optimal kidney function. The Greenie’s ingredients are rich and contain appetite suppressant veggies.

Juice Crafters
935 Silverado St
La Jolla, CA 92037

What we recommend: Green #2. Juice Crafters takes pride in their cold-pressed juices and on-the-spot made-to-order smoothies and bowls – and for excellent reason! Greener #2 is a cold-pressed concoction of kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber celery, apple and lemon. Rife with vitamins A, C, E and K, this juice has the perfect purifying properties that make it a fantastic and satisfying post-work out drink.

So drink up! Here’s to good health not just in the summertime, but all year around too!

Off the Beach La Jolla Activities for This Summer

Can you believe it? Summertime is in full swing and it’s a great occasion to get off the couch, out from behind that desk, and get outside and enjoy La Jolla! Sure, La Jolla is known for its beaches, but certainly that doesn’t mean you have to go to the beach to get some fresh air. Here’s some outdoor activities that don’t involve getting your toes caked with sand.

Hot Air Balloon

hot-air-balloon-rides

Aside from the Wizard of Oz who explained it perfectly (although in Kanss), a veritable plethora of people have attempted to describe the sense of drifting through the ever sunny skies in a San Diego hot air balloon. Have you ever heard of the Balloonist’s Prayer? It simply defines the sport as a spiritual experience: one connecting with the sun, the wind and Mother Earth. It’s quite an enchanted event, a vast and free-floating excursion in the beautiful early morning sunrise or stunning evening sunset. Hot air balloonists in San Diego typically glide over San Diego beaches, lagoons, canyons and parks, suspended over strands of clouds, foam-covered white caps in the gleaming Pacific, and of course uninterrupted expanses of California coastline and plush, green valleys below. Why not give it a try and experience the thrill of a lifetime and get some truly fresh air while you’re at it?

The Coronado Ferry

coronado-ferry

The Coronado Ferry schedule is clear-cut and simple to read and comprehend. Beginning at 9 a.m. each and every day, the Coronado Ferry leaves the San Diego Broadway Pier on the hour and journeys across San Diego Bay to allow its passengers to alight in the ever attractive city of Coronado at the Old Coronado Ferry Landing, a specialty shopping center. The last ferry to Coronado leaves at 9 p.m. Sunday through Monday, and at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. If you’re looking to spend the day in Coronado, be advised that return trips leave on the half hour. Sweet, right? Coronado Ferry tickets cost a mere $4.25 for a one way cruise, or $8.50 for a round trip. One of the benefits of riding the ferry is that you can bring your bicycle with you for no additional fee, that is, if you desire to sightsee Coronado beaches and various other attractions in that manner. For additional information concerning the Coronado Ferry, Coronado Ferry Landing and ticket information, simply call (619) 234-4111. You’ll be in for a treat!

Horseback Riding

horseback-riding

Okay, so you’re not John Wayne or a professional rodeo bronc rider. So what? If you’ve ever thought about enjoying a horseback ride but watching the Kentucky Derby or glimpsing a horse through a fence at the San Diego Zoo is the closest you’ve ever come, don’t fret it, let it. San Diego stables have rental horses and affordable lessons available for riders of all levels, from beginners to pros. In addition, there are myriad riding trails throughout San Diego and one or more is sure to fascinate you and your family or loved one. Bring along some chow, snatch that digital camera, and canter your horse in the peaceful Cuyamaca and Laguna mountains. On the other hand, you may opt to follow trails through a sandy river bed or along the beach near the San Diego border. C’mon, grab a pal and have some fun in the sun!

Bright Valley Farm

At Bright Valley farm there is truly a horse for everyone, pardner. You can ride through trails in a satisfying and serene riding area located near the Sweetwater River. While the rides are guided, they are not mere walking tours with a gimpy mare on her last legs. Indeed, trotting and cantering is permissible. Trail rides are $40 per person for an hour, $50 for an hour and a half, and $60 for two full hours. If you’re planning a group outing of 10 or more people, kindly call for easy and speedy reservations. Private and group lessons are also available for all age groups. Bright Valley Farm is located at 12310 Campo Rd., in Spring Valley. You can reach them at (619) 670-1861. Now giddy up and get out for a perfect day on a horse, of course!

Sweetwater Farms

Sweetwater Farms offers horseback riding lessons and awesome trail rides for all levels of riders. The staff provides calm dude ranch horses anybody will find at ease to ride. Trail rides are a mere $45 an hour. Sweetwater Farms is open Tuesdays through Sundays and on most holidays. Sweetwater Farms is located at 3051 Equitation Lane, Bonita. Give ‘em a call at (619) 475-3134 and saddle up!

Happy Trails Horse Rentals

Were you aware that Happy Trails is located near the only beach in San Diego that permits horseback riding? If trotting or galloping alongside the beach with fresh salt air in your face charms you, Happy Trails is the go to place for you and your loved ones. The company also provides trail rides in other parts of the greater San Diego area. Beach rides are $100 for two hours and $135 for three hours. Guided trail rides are $50 for an hour and $75 for an hour and a half. Happy Trails Horse Rentals is easily accessible at 2180 Monument Rd., San Diego. Grab your smartphone and give them a call at (619) 443-3517. Happy Trails is indeed a joyful experience for one and all.

Fore! Golfing in La Jolla

golf-courses

Golfing during the summer in San Diego, much like holiday golfing, has a distinct essence of its own. Many tourists and business travelers invade San Diego for a taste of our desirable climate, and they also head to San Diego golf courses, especially those located on the coast. Unfortunately, golfing in most cities during the summer typically means there are no available tee times and so many of mosquitoes Monsanto couldn’t knock ‘em out. However, this is far from true for San Diego golfers. Here in charming San Diego County, there are more than 25 public or semi-private golf courses. Consequently, golf aficionados can get on those greens whatever time of the season.

The following list of San Diego golf courses includes useful information (facts, figures and fees) to help you decide where to play your next round of golf in San Diego. Check it out HERE
