The 14th annual Celebrate the Craft returns to the Lodge at Torrey Pines for its fourteenth year on October 30, 2016 from 11:30am-3pm. This is your opportunity to experience one of Southern California’s premier showcases for regionally grown ingredients and innovative cooking and winemaking. Hear the stories behind growing, designing, and carefully preparing your food from the people behind it all—and of course, taste it yourself!
“The growing season runs year-round in our neck of Southern California, and the local agricultural community takes full advantage, affording us a unique variety of the freshest produce,” says Jeff Jackson, Executive Chef at A.R. Valentien at The Lodge at Torrey Pines and an innovator of fresh, regional cuisine. “With a daily abundance of fresh food to work with, it’s little wonder our local chefs are so creative.” This incredible creativity has been showcased to locals at the Lodge since Celebrate the Craft’s inception in 2002.
What began as a way to bolster San Diego’s dwindling agricultural production has grown into a bigger event each year, annually supporting San Diego agriculture and bringing fantastic returns to the community and diners alike. Thanks to the careful efforts of local culinary talents, the event has become one of the most innovative celebrations of its kind.
Guests will experience all the amazing things San Diego’s year-round agricultural season has to offer. There will be live food demonstrations from famed local chefs, as well as wine and beer presentations. Experts in the agricultural, culinary, and dining industries will be participating. Growers, vintners, brewers, and culinary artisans from some of California’s most renowned farms, bakeries, wineries, and breweries will be on hand to share their skills and enthusiasm.
Tickets are available for $135 per person on their website. Conveniently, the Lodge is offering package deals this year! You can reserve a room and purchase a ticket to the event as a package for an extra low price.
The event sells out every year, though, so hurry and get your tickets before it’s too late. You don’t want to miss this incredible epicurean opportunity!
