For the first year ever, Fashion Week San Diego is being hosted in La Jolla! FWSD is a traditional and industry recognized fashion week that showcases designers from all over the globe, not just from San Diego. Opening and closing night events will be held at the La Valencia Hotel, and two haute couture runway shows will be held under the stars as they close down Wall Street. Visitors and residents of San Diego are welcome to “Discover the Action” this year at the annual Pacific BeachFest. This one-day event is perfect for visitors looking to enjoy all that San Diego beaches have to offer. October 2 – October 4
The theme for the 2015 MCAS Miramar Air Show is “A Salute to Veterans and Their Families.” The show is pleased to welcome back the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the Patriots Jet Team for thrilling performances of fast-paced formation flying and choreographed aerobatic maneuvers. Enjoy exciting performances from military parachute teams, aerial demonstrations, and a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration. The 2015 La Jolla Art & Wine Festival returns to La Jolla for its seventh annual season on October 10th and 11th on Girard Ave. This two-day juried art show and fundraiser has quickly garnered a reputation as one of the most prestigious art & wine festivals in Southern California. Featuring the works of over 150 established artists from all over, the LJAWF features a silent auction, roving entertainment, a gourmet marketplace, the family art center and a wine and beer garden which will include premier wineries in addition to San Diego’s top breweries. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is kicking off the fall season with its annual Fall Festival! The museums and merchants in the state park will host family friendly games, activities and entertainment reminiscent of an old-fashioned harvest celebration. A master pumpkin-carving demonstration will start the day; then free craft activities will include pumpkin painting, corn shucking, pinecone bird feeders and corn husk flowers in a specially decorated Harvest Home. Free to the public, this traffic-stopping show will draw the eye as Fifth Avenue is taken over from E Street to K Street. This well-known event is renowned for its exquisite display of high performance, classic, and rare vehicles exhibited in the historic heart of Downtown San Diego. CRSSD Festival is a two-day electronic music festival at the 12 acre San Diego Waterfront Park featuring three stages and 36+ performers. The Thirteenth annual gathering to “Celebrate the Craft” will take place on October 25th at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. For the past thirteen years, “Celebrate the Craft” has been one of Southern California’s premier showcases for regionally grown ingredients and innovative cooking and wine-making. There will be a full day of cooking demonstrations by participating chefs from San Diego’s premier restaurants. This one-of-a-kind culinary event will benefit programs and services of CCS, a San Diego nonprofit that provides advocacy, legal support, and services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse. Get up close and personal with 10 of San Diego’s top Chefs and Mixologists who will battle to create extravagant culinary creations with exquisitely paired cocktails.
