What’s fall without a visit to a pumpkin patch? We’ve put together some of the best pumpkin patches and farms in San Diego to visit this Halloween month, perfect for a family outing!
Suzie’s Farm – Pumpkin Palooza
When: October 8, 15, 22 from 10-2pm
Where: 1856 Saturn Blvd., San Diego, CA
U-Pick organic pumpkins at Suzie’s Farm’s 2-acre patch! Make a day of it and enjoy live music, face painting, yummy food like wood-fired pizza made with organic ingredients straight from the farm. Juice Wave SD and God Save the Cuisine will also be offering up delicious food and EscoGelato for dessert! Pumpkin Palooza is a free event to attend and is open to the general public.

Looking for a patch that’s more convenient yet offer the many fun events the other do? Then head to a Pumpkin Station located throughout San Diego County. Family-friendly activities offered include pumpkin jumps, petting zoos, game zones, and plenty of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
Peltzer Pumpkin Farm
When: Daily, 9am – 8pm
Where: 39925 Calle Contento, Temecula, CA
In addition to pumpkin picking, this family-owned pumpkin farm offers gold mining, pig races, pony rides, a petting zoo, and more!
Julian Mining Company
When: Friday & Saturday 10am – 5pm; Sunday 12pm – 5pm
Where: 4444 State Hwy 78, Julian, CA
A great way to spend an entire day with the family! Find vine ripened pumpkins, Tractor-drawn hayrides, U-press apple cider, Farm Animals, Straw Maze and Plenty of Open Space!
Waterfront Pumpkin Patch
When: Sunday, Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 1600 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, California 92101
Pick your own pumpkin at Waterfront Park! There will be pumpkin decorating, live entertainment, a face painter and balloon twister, plus food trucks! A limited supply of pumpkins will be available and given away to kids (only) on a first-come, first served basis.
Tom’s Adventures Pumpkin Patch

Where: Various locations – Encinitas, Mira Mesa, Vista
These Family-Owned Pumpkin Patches offer something for everyone to participate in. From Kiddy Bouncy Houses To XXL Double Lane Slides, there is something for everyone! Depending on the patch, find petting zoo’s, a 10+ foot inflatable pyramid. Every location has a prize winning area where you can play for a special prize!
Mountain Valley Ranch Pumpkin Patch
When: September 26th – October 31st (9am-6pm)
Where: 842 Highway 78, Ramona, CA 92065
Bring your family and friends and enjoy lots of fun running through their gigantic corn maze, visiting their petting zoo at the animal exhibit, shooting a corn gun, pony rides! Find u-pick pumpkins or choose one from their open-aire shop. An excellent stop on the way to Julian!
Bates Nut Farm
When: September 24th – October 31st, Monday- Friday (9am-5:30pm) Saturday & Sunday (8:30am-6pm)
Where: 15954 Woods Valley Road, Valley Center, CA 92082
Located in Valley Center, Bates Nut Farm is a must yearly pilgrimage for San Diego Families. Lots of fun to be had with tractor hayrides, a straw maze, a petting corral, pony rides, and more! Visit during Friday Nights at the Farm and enjoy live music, food, flashlight tag in the straw maze and more!
Oma’s Pumpkin Patch
When: September 27- October 29, 2016, Tuesdays-Saturdays (10am-7pm)
Where: 14950 El Monte Road, Lakeside, CA 92040
This private farm offers heaps of activities for the entire family at a fee. General admission for children 1-13 years is $10. The admission fee includes a Jack Patch Pumpkin, a bottle of water, access to the playground equipment, a race down Cottonseed Mountain (the giant slide), a sand pile with toy trucks & tractors, covered hay rides around the farm, the Hay Bale Maze, petting corral, pedal cart/tricycle race track, and games.
PB Pumpkin Patch
When: October 1st- October 31st, Monday- Friday (10am-10pm) Saturday & Sunday (8am-10pm)
Where: 870 Garnet Avenue, Pacific Beach, CA 92109 (Corner of Garnet and Bayard)
Offering a massive selection of pumpkins and decorations, as well as free pumpkin carving and painting area. Visitors also receive a free cup of hot cider!
