Star Of India San Diego

Star Of India San Diego

Star of India is an ancient sailing ship, built in 1863 as a full-rigged merchant ship on the Isle of Man. Docked at San Diego Bay near B Street Pier, along North Harbor Drive, Star of India is a very fun thing to do when visiting San Diego for the entire family.

Acquired in 1926 to preserve San Diego's maritime heritage, Star of India is part of the San Diego Maritime Museum which includes other vessels, all of which the San Diego visitors can board. On board and below deck, Star of India San Diego showcases nautical instruments and other paraphernalia from the long past era of sailing ships, swashbucklers and pirates. The Star of India is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest active ship and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1966.
