Sea World San Diego
What started out as a failed idea to build an underwater restaurant, Sea World San Diego has become a favorite theme park visited by millions each year. Sea World San Diego opened on March 21, 1964 with only a few dolphins and sea lions and minimal attractions. Within the first 12 months, more than 400,000 guests visited the small park which proved it to be a success. Since then, Sea World in San Diego has grown leaps and bounds and has added on 2 additional parks in Orlando and San Antonio.
Sea World San Diego is known for its entertaining and exciting animal shows. There are several show times throughout the day so you can catch them all! Come watch Shamu splash an unexpected audience or see dolphins flip in unison. There are also 10 rides scattered throughout the park which will take you high in the sky above San Diego in the Skytower or get soaked on the Journey to Atlantis water ride. There are also 14 exhibits at Sea World San Diego varying from polar bears in Wild Arctic to turtles in Turtle Reef. A crowd favorite at Sea World San Diego is the Shark Encounter where you are carried through an acrylic tube located at the bottom of a shark tank with massive sharks swimming all around you. You can easily spend all day watching these playful animals in their habitats.
Admission and tickets for Sea World San Diego cost $69.99 for guests 10 and older and $61.99 for guests 3-9 years old. Sea World San Diego tickets are free for children ages 2 and under. All Sea World San Diego shows and exhibits are included with park admission. The San Diego Sea World park is open during all weather conditions, but some shows and attractions may be temporarily closed. Sea World also offers a pet-friendly facility where you can board your furry friend for $10 per day.
